THIS PROJECT WILL DEVELOP AND VALIDATE A FLEXIBLE COMBINED HEAT AND POWER (CHP) SYSTEM CAPABLE OF BEING FUELED FROM A RANGE OF LOW-CARBON FUELS, INCLUDING 100% HYDROGEN, HYDROGEN-PIPELINE-NATURAL-GAS BLENDS, AND BIOGAS. THIS UNIQUE 100-KW SYSTEM IS COMPRISED OF INTERMEDIATE-TEMPERATURE SOLID-OXIDE FUEL CELLS INTEGRATED WITH A HIGH-EFFICIENCY STATIONARY ENGINE AND BALANCE-OF-PLANT (BOP) EQUIPMENT. THE PROPOSED PROJECT BENEFITS GREATLY FROM HARDWARE AND TEST-FACILITY DEVELOPMENT COMPLETED UNDER THE ARPA-E INTEGRATE PROGRAM TO ACCELERATE AND RISK-REDUCE OUR INTEGRATED-SYSTEM EFFORT.
