THE PROPOSED PROJECT SEEKS TO DEVELOP AN OPERATIONAL FRAMEWORK WHICH LEVERAGES ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) AND MACHINE LEARNING (ML) TECHNIQUES TO INCREASE OPERATIONAL FLEXIBILITY OF HYDROPOWER FACILITIES. THE PROJECT WOULD FOCUS ON QUANTIFICATION OF HYDROPOWER OPERATIONAL FLEXIBILITY, OPTIMIZATION OF OPERATIONS FOR INCREASED FLEXIBILITY AND REDUCED GREENHOUSE GAS (GHG) EMISSIONS, AND ENHANCED FRAMEWORK PERFORMANCE BY DEVELOPING TOOLS WHICH LEVERAGE AI/ML TECHNIQUES. PROJECT ACTIVITIES WOULD INCLUDE OUTREACH, DATA ANALYSIS, DEVELOPMENT OF TEST CASES, AND DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF COMPUTER ALGORITHMS AND MODELS.
