** AWARDS ISSUED PRIOR TO JANUARY 20, 2025, WERE FUNDED UNDER PREVIOUS ADMINISTRATIONS AND MAY NOT REFLECT THE PRIORITIES AND POLICIES OF THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION.**, THIS PROJECT PROVIDES LIVESTOCK RESEARCHERS, EDUCATORS, STUDENTS, EXTENSION SPECIALISTS, GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL, AND INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS WITH PRACTICAL TRAINING IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, PREDICTIVE MODELING, AND DATA-DRIVEN DECISION SUPPORT FOR ANIMAL PRODUCTION. THE PROJECT FOCUSES ON IMPROVING NUTRIENT UTILIZATION, FEED EFFICIENCY, ANIMAL PRODUCTIVITY, AND THE INTERPRETATION OF PRODUCTION AND EMISSIONS-RELATED DATA. THROUGH A HANDS-ON WORKSHOP, PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN HOW TO APPLY APPROACHES SUCH AS BAYESIAN MODELING, COMPUTER VISION, AND LARGE LANGUAGE MODELS USING PRACTICAL EXAMPLES RELEVANT TO ANIMAL NUTRITION AND LIVESTOCK SYSTEMS.THE PROJECT WILL STRENGTHEN TECHNICAL CAPACITY IN ANIMAL SCIENCE BY MAKING WORKSHOP MATERIALS, EXERCISES, AND RECORDED PRESENTATIONS AVAILABLE THROUGH THE NATIONAL ANIMAL NUTRITION PROGRAM WEBSITE FOR CONTINUED LEARNING. THESE ACTIVITIES WILL HELP PARTICIPANTS USE QUANTITATIVE TOOLS TO EVALUATE LIVESTOCK-MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES, IMPROVE RESOURCE USE, AND GENERATE SCIENCE-BASED INFORMATION THAT SUPPORTS EFFICIENT AND PRODUCTIVE ANIMAL AGRICULTURE.
